Jitneys of Northern New Jersey

Privately operated jitney buses, also known as guaguas, shuttle buses, “Spanish buses,” gypsy buses or dollar vans, run back and forth between New Jersey and New York.  They do not run on published schedules, do not have marked stops, and operators keep no information online.  This website is designed to give you all the information you need to take advantage of this unique form of transportation.

Jitneys run more frequently than similar NJ Transit routes and charge cheaper fares, making them a much more convenient travel option.
